Castro Valley's housing stock centers on 1966, which puts it well ahead of the 1980s-90s wave that filled out a lot of the rest of our service area. That gap matters more than it sounds like it should. A door and opener installed in the mid-60s through the 70s came with different spring configurations than what became standard later - often a single torsion spring where two are now code-preferred, or extension springs running along the horizontal tracks instead.
